About Dunmore Lang College

Established in 1972, the College provides a safe and supportive community for both undergraduate and postgraduate Macquarie University students in a variety of accommodation styles.

Dunmore Lang College is a not-for-profit Residential College driven by the belief that enabling access to university study changes not only students’ lives but also their families and wider communities. By undertaking university study, students open up new pathways and opportunities for their futures as well as becoming role models for others to follow.

OUR HISTORY

More than 50 years of community

Dunmore Lang College has fostered friendship, connection and community for over 50 years. Our history continues to shape a welcoming student experience, providing a supportive environment where students can grow academically, personally and socially.

What We Stand For

We create opportunities for university study through belonging, responsibility, respect and service.

Access to Opportunity

We remove barriers to higher education through opportunity, support and belonging.

A Community That Cares

Students thrive in an inclusive residential community built on mutual respect.

Safety and Support

Our 24/7 wrap-around care helps students feel safe, supported and connected.

Growth Beyond College

We develop confidence, skills and values for positive impact beyond College.

A Place For Everyone

Dunmore Lang College brings together students from different backgrounds, cultures and walks of life. What makes our community special is the opportunity to learn from one another, share experiences and feel at home, whatever your story.

A community from all corners of Australia

Many students come to DLC from rural and regional areas, often moving away from home for the first time. We’re proud to bring together students from across Australia and create a community where they can settle in, build friendships and feel at home.

Celebrating culture and identity

We value the cultures, knowledge and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and recognise the importance of creating a culturally safe and respectful community where everyone feels they belong.

Connection, acceptance and belonging

We want every student to feel comfortable being themselves. Our Queer & Allies group provides opportunities to connect, build friendships and celebrate LGBTQIA+ identities as part of our wider College community.

Space to feel comfortable and supported

Everyone experiences College life differently. We recognise and value different ways of thinking, learning and engaging. Our Recharge Room offers a quieter space for students to take a break, reset and step away from the busyness of College life.
