At Dunmore Lang College, we believe that where you live should support you throughout your university journey. Each year, we offer a wide range of scholarships and bursaries to help students thrive and complete their studies.
Our scholarships recognise students who demonstrate academic excellence, strong leadership and a commitment to meaningful community service.
Each year, the College provides over $700,000 in scholarships in collaboration with Macquarie University and other generous donors and partners.
Dunmore Lang College Entry Scholarships
Dunmore Lang College offers two types of Entry Scholarships; the Academic Scholarship and the Entrance Scholarship.

Up to $7,500 for one year only.

These scholarships are for students with outstanding academic records from their year 12 results. Valued at up to $7,500 for one year only.

Dunmore Lang College Entrance Scholarships:
These scholarships are for students with demonstrated financial need. Valued at up to $7,500 for one year only.

This scholarship is available to First Year Domestic students studying at Macquarie University and staying at Dunmore Lang College in 2027.

Dunmore Lang College and the Country Education Foundation Scholarships
The Dunmore Lang College and the Country Education Foundation Scholarship is administered by the Country Education Foundation and provides a 50% discount on student accommodation costs for rural students beginning their degree in 2027.

CEF grants are based on financial and circumstantial need, not academic success. You will however, need to demonstrate commitment to achieving your goal. The four essential selection criteria are:

To find your local foundation, head over to the CEF’s Foundations Map, which you can filter by state. You can discover which local foundation you will need to apply to, based on where you live or where you went to school.
Grant applications open during the second half of each calendar year. You can check with your local foundation opening and closing dates here.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview with their local committee.
Grants will be allocated after interviews have been completed and you are accepted into your chosen course.
When you apply for a CEF grant you will need to apply to the local CEF foundation in your area. If you are successful, your grant will be awarded and managed by your local foundation.

Macquarie University Advantage Accommodation Scholarship (Dunmore Lang College)
The Macquarie Advantage Accommodation Scholarship (Dunmore Lang College) provides financial support for students who require accommodation to undertake undergraduate study at Macquarie University, supporting the costs associated with on-campus living and enabling a connected university experience.

Fully funded accommodation and catered meals (standard room) for up to three years.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Fixed places are available for Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students.
Application for this scholarship can be made by completing the online Macquarie University Scholarship Application form AND the Equity Scholarship Application form via UAC. Successful applicant will be selected based on:
- Leadership, demonstrated through engagement in school, community, family, cultural, or extracurricular contexts.
- Connection to and contribution within community, including school, local, or other community environments, and readiness to participate in a university residential setting.
- Commitment to educational goals, including motivation to succeed in university study.
- IMPORTANT! Make sure to submit your UAC Equity Scholarship Application before the application close date of Friday, 13 November 2026, 11:59pm.
Macquarie Advantage Regional Pathway Scholarship
The Macquarie Advantage Regional Pathway Scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students from regional and remote areas, improving access to higher education at Macquarie University. This scholarship is awarded for up to 4 years, subject to meeting ongoing eligibility criteria.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Applications are available via the UAC Equity Scholarship Application Portal. Macquarie University will be participating in the following Equity Scholarship (ES) Offer Rounds for course commencement in Session 1 2027:
- November Round: Apply by Friday, 13 November 2026, 11:59pm
- December Round: Apply by Tuesday, 10 December 2026, 11:59pm
- January Round: Apply by Thursday 08 January 2027, 11:59pm
- Scholarship places may be exhausted prior to the January 2027 offer round. To avoid disappointment, we recommend submitting your application before this round.
- Only one application is required for the admission year. Your application will remain active and will be considered in each offer round within the same admission period.

Macquarie University excels itself for having one of the most generous scholarship programs in Australia; distributing over $6 million in scholarships annually. They offer several scholarships based on equity, merit as well as subject-specific awards.

Dunmore Lang College Returning Student Scholarships
Dunmore Lang College also provides ongoing support and recognition of our returning students, their needs, successes, and achievements. The following scholarships are awarded annually, and students are invited to apply through an internal application process.
Dorothy Knox Bursaries – Are based on the primary criteria of financial need and academic progress.
Margaret Saville Award – Students are invited to self-nominate or nominate a fellow resident for this award in Semester Two prior to the Valedictory Celebration. It is awarded based on service to the College.
John Dunmore Lang Senior Scholar Award – Recognises the contribution of a senior student to the life and community of Dunmore Lang College, as well as their potential to contribute to the wider community in their future professional career and community service.
Dunmore Lang College Academic Awards – Recognises the highest academic achievement of a DLC student in each of the four faculties at Macquarie University.
Dean Frost Memorial Prize – Awarded to the student with the highest academic results overall.
Rotary Club of North Ryde Scholarship – Awarded to a returning student at the beginning of the year whose degree has an international focus.
GradReady GAMSAT Principal’s Scholarship – Each year, one prospective medical student is recommended for the GradReady GAMSAT Attendance Course, which supports their preparation for the GAMSAT. Further details about the course can be found here.
Applications for these scholarships are internal and will open during the academic year.
Tertiary Access Payment
The Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) is provided through Centrelink to assist regional students to relocate for study. This is valued up to $5,000 as a one off payment.
Applications are open all year.
To get the payment you must:
- be an Australian resident meeting residence rules
- come from an inner regional, outer regional or remote area
- move to study at a tertiary education provider that’s at least 90 minutes away from your family home location by public transport
- have completed year 12 or equivalent
- be in your first year of tertiary study
- studying a tertiary course at certificate IV or above
- be 22 or younger on the day you start your tertiary course
- have parents or guardians whose income is under the current combined parental income limit of $250,000 if you are a dependant.
You can still claim TAP if you get ABSTUDY, Youth Allowance or Relocation Scholarship in your first year of study.
